New Environment, Science and Technology Minister Pays Courtesy Call on Lands Minister Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah

Newly sworn-in Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has begun the transition process ahead of formally assuming office at the Ministry.

As part of the process, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, who had been acting as Minister for Environment, Science and Technology.

Warm Exchange Between Ministers

The meeting provided an opportunity for a cordial engagement between the two ministers as Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings prepares to officially take over the Environment, Science and Technology portfolio.

The courtesy call forms part of the transition arrangements following her swearing-in and is expected to facilitate a smooth handover of responsibilities.

Focus on Environmental Leadership

Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings is expected to lead the Ministry at a time when Ghana continues to face major environmental challenges, including illegal mining, waste management, climate change, pollution and the protection of the country’s natural resources.

Her assumption of office is expected to bring renewed attention to environmental protection, science, technology and policies aimed at promoting sustainable national development.

Smooth Handover and Continuity

The engagement with Hon. Armah-Kofi Buah is also expected to support continuity in the Ministry’s ongoing programmes and initiatives.

As the transition process progresses, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings is preparing to formally assume her duties and begin working with officials and stakeholders to advance Ghana’s environmental, scientific and technological agenda.
