Tamale, Ghana – The Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has provided GH¢2,000 each to 100 women in his constituency as seed capital to support entrepreneurship and improve livelihoods.
The initiative forms part of the MP’s ongoing commitment to women’s empowerment, economic inclusion, and poverty reduction by helping women establish or expand their small businesses.
100 Women Receive Financial Support
The beneficiaries were selected from the communities of Jerigu, Gbashe, and Cheshe in the Tamale South Constituency.
Each woman received GH¢2,000 to either start a new business or strengthen an existing one, with the aim of improving household incomes and promoting self-reliance.
According to Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, empowering women economically remains one of the most effective ways to accelerate community development and reduce poverty.

Speaking during the presentation, the Tamale South MP reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that create opportunities for women, youth, and other vulnerable groups.
