Accra, Ghana – The government under President John Dramani Mahama has allocated GH¢20 million in the 2026 Budget toward the establishment of a Film Development Fund, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has disclosed.

The initiative is expected to provide additional support for Ghana’s film industry and contribute to the growth and development of the country’s creative economy.

According to Minister Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the GH¢20 million allocation forms part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the creative arts sector and create a more supportive environment for Ghanaian filmmakers and other industry professionals.
