The Embassy of the state of Qatar in Accra-Ghana on Friday May 8, 2026 joined the global Diplomats and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC- Geneva and Switzerland) at Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, Accra for commemoration of World Red Cross and Red Crescent day hosted by Ghana Red Cross Society.
The Deputy to the Qatar Ambassador, His Excellency Imam Saleh Rashid Al-Mansouri represented the Qatar Embassy in Ghana during Ghana Maiden Hosting of the World Red Cross Day celebration.
The Qatar Government is on the World’s records to have rendered varieties of international milestone Humanitarian services to critical persons in need especially, War victims, Flood disaster victims, including Ghana Akosombo Dam spillage Flood disaster victims particularly at the Aveyime Camp community in the North Tong Constituency of the Volta region of Ghana where the Qatar Charity Ghana field office Country Director Hasan Ali Owda served food and non-food disaster relief items to the Ghanaian flood victims last two years.
Globally the Qatar Government through their World leading professional and international Non-Governmental Organization (Qatar Charity) on 2020 World Refugee Day Celebration was welcomed by the United Nation Children’s Fund (UNICEF) originally known as United Nations International Cildren;s Fund for the Qatar Charity headquarter at Doha two 920 million dollars contribution towards provision of education and child protection services for Syrian and the highest number of refugees’ children hosted by the Turkiye Government.
According to the UNICEF representative to the Gulf Area Eltayeb Edam, as the World, was busy with covid-19, the Qatar Charity Assistant Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for International Operations and Partnership, Mr. Faisal Rahid Al-Fehaida and his Qatar Charity donors intervened and after their partnership with UNICEF, the forgotten refugees children who was at high risks of school dropout, child labour, early marriage were relieved by the timely financial contribution and also yielded over 680,000 refugee children School enrollment with about 400,000 remained out of school.
This year World Red Cross Day Celebration was cloured with several awards delivered to the hard working Ghana Red Cross Volunteers across the sixteen(16) administrative regions of Ghana.
