The Farijah Foundation, under the leadership of Hajia Farida — wife of the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, Yussif Issaka Jajah — organized a special Mother’s Day event themed “Time With Widows” at the School of Catering in Mamobi, Accra.
The humanitarian initiative was organized to honor, support, and celebrate widows within the community by sharing love, kindness, hope, and encouragement during this year’s Mother’s Day celebrations.
Widows from different communities across Ayawaso North gathered at the event to experience moments of joy, appreciation, empowerment, and social interaction through the foundation’s outreach program.

Speaking at the event, Hajia Farida stressed the importance of supporting widows and vulnerable mothers within society, emphasizing that every woman deserves dignity, respect, care, and emotional support regardless of her situation.
According to her, many widows silently go through emotional, financial, and social challenges, making it important for society to continuously show compassion and solidarity toward them.
She noted that the Farijah Foundation remains committed to humanitarian service and community support initiatives aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable groups, especially women and children.
Promoting Unity and Compassion
The Mother’s Day gathering also brought together community members, supporters, volunteers, and well-wishers who joined the widows in celebrating motherhood in an atmosphere filled with happiness, unity, and togetherness.
Several participants expressed appreciation to the Farijah Foundation for the thoughtful initiative, describing the event as a source of encouragement and hope for many women.
The celebration featured interaction sessions, prayers, words of encouragement, and moments of social bonding aimed at uplifting the spirits of the widows.
