Nana Boadi Amponim Obodade III has commended John Dramani Mahama following the approval of a major road construction project for Asuom and surrounding communities, describing the development as a major relief for residents.
According to the Krontihene, the intervention by President Mahama addresses one of the most pressing concerns facing the area, as residents have for years complained about the poor condition of roads linking the community to nearby towns and commercial centres.
Speaking on the development, Nana Boadi Amponim Obodade III stated that the people of Asuom are deeply grateful for the project, which he believes will significantly improve transportation, economic activity, and access to social services within the area.
He noted that the approval of the road project demonstrates President Mahama’s commitment to responding to the needs of ordinary Ghanaians and investing in infrastructure development across the country.
The chief further asserted that any political campaign by Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the 2028 general elections would not gain support in the area because the people have witnessed what he described as a direct response to their long-standing challenges.
According to him, the poor nature of the roads has affected business activities, movement of goods and services, education, and healthcare delivery for many years, making the road project a crucial development for the community.
He added that residents believe the project will open up the area for increased investment and development while easing transportation difficulties faced daily by commuters and traders.
Community members have reportedly welcomed the announcement with excitement, expressing optimism that the construction work will bring lasting economic and social benefits to Asuom and neighbouring communities.
The project is expected to form part of wider infrastructure improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening road networks and promoting development in various parts of the country. Nana Boadi Amponim Obodade III
