Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has expressed confidence that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will return to power in the 2028 general elections.
According to Afenyo-Markin, the NPP remains Ghana’s strongest political force and is best positioned to deliver economic recovery, create jobs, and accelerate national development.
“The NPP will return to power in 2028 and save Ghana from the NDC,” he declared while addressing party supporters and stakeholders.
Afenyo-Markin argued that the NPP has a proven track record in governance and remains committed to addressing the economic challenges facing the country.
He expressed optimism that Ghanaians would once again place their trust in the party during the next general election, citing the NPP’s policies and development agenda as key factors that would drive its comeback.
According to him, the party is already positioning itself to reconnect with the electorate and rebuild support across the country.
The Minority Leader emphasized the importance of economic growth, job creation, and improved living conditions for Ghanaians.
He maintained that the NPP possesses the experience and vision needed to strengthen the economy and create opportunities for young people and businesses.
Political observers note that economic issues are expected to remain central to campaign discussions as political parties begin laying the groundwork for the 2028 elections.
Afenyo-Markin’s remarks are among the latest indications that political parties are already looking ahead to the next electoral cycle despite the relative distance to the 2028 polls.
His comments have generated discussions among supporters of both major political parties, with some welcoming his confidence while others argue that voters will ultimately judge parties based on their performance and policy proposals.
Analysts say such statements are likely to intensify political debate in the coming years as parties seek to strengthen their bases and present their visions for Ghana’s future.
The comments have sparked conversations on social media and within political circles, with supporters of the NPP praising the party’s prospects while opponents maintain that the ruling administration deserves the opportunity to deliver on its mandate.
As Ghana’s political landscape continues to evolve, both the NPP and NDC are expected to remain focused on winning public confidence ahead of the next general elections. Afenyo-Markin Npp,
